When the glass is shown at her feet, she is wearing socks
Scenario
Having witnessed a strange, traumatic incident involving a patient, the psychiatrist is increasingly convinced that she is threatened by some supernatural entity. A couple of days before the release of the film on September 30, 2022, the actors from the film appeared at various baseball games, sitting behind home base motionless and smiling, looking at the camera, not moving, despite the understandable concern of fans in the hall, wearing Smile T-shirts. Another soon appeared in the background with the crowd during the Today show. At about the 31 minute mark, Rose breaks a glass when her alarm goes off. A few seconds later, when she checks the door, she is wearing lace-up shoes.
Rose Cotter: Who are you?
Based on what happens later at the party, there are a few continuity issues that may not be “mistakes” but actually intentional to show the “breaks” in Rose’s mind/sanity.. Why are you doing this to me? Monster: Because your mind is so attractive.. Paramount’s initial and final logos have a curved line in the shape of a smile at the foot of a mountain. The plot was basically a mix of Lights Out and It Follows, two fantasy horrors. SO WHAT… the actual plot of this film owes a lot to the trope within the genre It shouldn’t have worked, the “why” of the monster isn’t that much fleshly development, so this film spends some time figuring out the “how”. It was a little tiring to figure out what was going on in terms of the curse, how it passed from person to person. A typical plot move is “they don’t believe the main character because she’s hysterical.” I mean, it’s been going on since Rosemary’s Baby, but that plot was much more elaborate, and there was reasoning behind it.
They are effective and unpredictable
At the wheel, Suzy Bacon’s performance is excellent. You really root for her character. But the groom is a cliché, you wonder why they are together at all. In general, what makes this film is the scary moments. The cinematography is also very gloomy and atmospheric.
You will be scared
Good demand, and I look forward to more from the writer/director.
